Congrats to Richard Boyce and Steve Handler on this publication using the OHDSI collaborative data model (OMOP Common Data Model – see http://www.ohdsi.org/data-standardization/the-common-data-model/) in a multi-site nursing home clinical research study.

Of note, OHDSI will be the data model used for the new $49M Precision Medicine grant Steve Reis, Shyam Visweswaran and Oscar Marroquin recently were awarded call “PA cares for US” (see http://www.upmc.com/media/NewsReleases/2016/Pages/pitt-pmi.aspx)

Brief Bios:

Richard Boyce, PhD - DBMI Associate Professor, was funded by the Center for Commercial Applications (CCA) of Healthcare Data which is part of the Pittsburgh Health Data Alliance/UPMC Enterprises (see http://healthdataalliance.com and https://healthdataalliance.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/PHDA-Funded-Projects-Release-FINAL.pdf) to develop Fall Sentinel. Steve Handler, MD PhD - Secondary DBMI faculty member (and DBMI alum) is CMIO of UPMC Community Provider services and the UPMC RAVEN Medical Director of Telemedicine and Health Information Technology.  Steve is also the Chief Medical Innovation Officer for Curavi Health (see http://curavihealth.com/who-we-are/).
